Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor

Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor is the principal academic and strategic support unit to the Vice-Chancellor. The Pro Vice-Chancellor serves as a bridge between the University’s strategic vision and its academic implementation, providing operational coordination across faculties, research units, and quality assurance structures.

Leadership and Scope

The Office is headed by Professor Winston Kwame Abroampa, a seasoned scholar and administrator whose leadership complements that of the Vice-Chancellor. His academic background and institutional acumen have been crucial in advancing UniMAC’s academic governance and postgraduate development frameworks.

In the absence of the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro Vice-Chancellor assumes executive authority, as enshrined in Statute 24 of the University Statutes.

Strategic Functions

The Pro Vice-Chancellor is tasked with:

  • Coordinating the academic and research agenda of the University.
  • Supervising postgraduate programmes and academic quality assurance.
  • Supporting staff performance appraisal, academic promotions, and professional development.
  • Aligning academic priorities with national policy and global best practices.
